INFECTION:
-In case of acute infection, the surgery will consist of making an opening of the maxillary sinus, passing through the nose. Bacteriological control and sinus cleaning will also be done.
-The reasons of chronic infection are:
1. Sinus mycosis associated with dental amalgam.
2. Episodes of infection, discomfort in the sinus area, cacosmia.
3. Dental treatment in anamnesis.
CT-scan of para-nasal sinuses will establish the diagnosis.
The surgery approach can be endonasal or combined (incision above the teeth associated with endonasal approach).
